UFC 214 Press Conference Live Stream: Cormier & Jones go head-to-head stat : Daily Star

In the early hours of Sunday morning, UFC light-heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will look to defend his crown for the third time. The most eagerly-anticipated rematch in UFC history serves as the main event for UFC 214, which takes place at the Honda Center in Anaheim California. Cormier's third title defence will see him take part in a grudge match with his bitter rival Jon Jones the only man to have ever bested him. The UFC's welterweight and women's featherweight titles will also be on the line this weekend, with 170lbs king Tyron Woodley defending his strap against Brazilian jiu-jitsu phenom Demian Maia and Cris 'Cyborg' Tonya Evinger vying for the vacant 145lbs bout.

Talk about a dramatic life cycle for a fighter during his first decade in front of the public eye. A win on Saturday would be just as important to UFC as Jones. Jones (22-1) vaulted from virtual unknown to freaky uber prospect to the youngest champion in UFC history just one month before his third anniversary with the company. It's somewhat incredible to look back on how many lives Jon Jones has lived in terms of his UFC fighting identity in the nine years since he made his promotional debut at UFC 87. That right there could be MMA's version of Floyd Mayweather's run as a PPV star if marketed properly.

Jon Jones needs a win at UFC 214 to cement his legacy -- but so does the UFC
He embarks on his first UFC win streak with an early knockout. The latter four "Prelims" undercard matches (check out the Fight Pass portion here) will take place on FXX. After being on the wrong end of one of 2016's "Knockouts of the Year," he faced Nova Uniao grinder Hacran Dias and took home the decision win in a mild upset. He managed to earn his first UFC Featherweight victory last September with a decision over Phillipe Nover in Brasilia. Remember, too, that MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the entire UFC 214 fight card on fight night, starting with the Fight Pass "Prelims" matches online, which are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
