Mark Godbeer apparently needs a new opponent for next month's UFC 209 event. Godbeer (11-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) today announced fellow heavyweight Todd Duffee (9-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) has been forced out of the fight for undisclosed reasons. Godbeer, meanwhile, made his UFC debut in November, when Justin Ledet tapped him out at UFC Fight Night 99. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass, though the bout order hasn't been finalized. UFC officials and Duffee haven't made a formal announcement, and of this morning, the fight is still listed on UFC.com.
Todd Duffee is off UFC 209 for undisclosed reasons
We'll have to wait and see why "Duffman" is off UFC 209. Todd Duffee continues to struggle with getting into the cage consistently. The once highly-touted Heavyweight prospect has once again found himself unable to compete, pulling out of his UFC 209 match-up with Mark Goodbeer. Either way I will be fighting at UFC 209. Here's Goodbeer's social media post on the situation:Stay tuned #UFC209 pic.twitter.com/Y3ZCfSuVBx — Mark Godbeer (@MarkGodbeerUK) February 16, 2017A quick update, unfortunately I have woke to the news that Todd Duffee is out of our scheduled bout at UFC 209 for reasons yet to be disclosed. This content may collect you by Max Nolan
